PUBLICATION ETHICS

Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

InspireTech Global Insight is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and research integrity. All participants in the publishing process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to uphold principles of honesty, transparency, accountability, fairness, confidentiality, and academic integrity.

This Publication Ethics and Research Integrity Policy applies to all scholarly books, monographs, edited volumes, textbooks, and other academic publications published by InspireTech Global Insight.

1. General Principles

InspireTech Global Insight is committed to:

  • maintaining high standards of academic and editorial quality;

  • ensuring fairness and transparency in editorial decision-making;

  • protecting the integrity of the scholarly record;

  • conducting appropriate editorial and peer-review processes;

  • respecting intellectual property and copyright;

  • identifying and addressing conflicts of interest;

  • preventing plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct;

  • protecting the confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts and reviews; and

  • correcting or retracting publications when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts represent original scholarly work and that all information presented is accurate and appropriately documented.

Authors are expected to:

  1. Submit only original work and properly acknowledge the contributions of others.

  2. Provide accurate and complete information regarding the research, data, methods, and sources used.

  3. Properly cite and acknowledge ideas, quotations, data, images, tables, and other materials originating from third parties.

  4. Obtain appropriate permission for copyrighted material when required.

  5. Ensure that all listed authors have made substantial contributions to the work and have approved the final manuscript.

  6. Obtain appropriate ethical approval for research involving human participants, animals, or other regulated research subjects, where applicable.

  7. Disclose relevant funding sources and potential conflicts of interest.

  8. Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and inappropriate text or data reuse.

  9. Cooperate with editorial investigations concerning questions about the integrity of the submitted or published work.

  10. Notify the publisher promptly if a significant error is identified after publication.

3. Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should accurately reflect substantial contributions to the scholarly work.

Individuals who have contributed substantially to the conception, design, research, analysis, interpretation, or development of the manuscript should be appropriately recognized.

Honorary, guest, or gift authorship is not acceptable.

Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately where applicable.

All authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission and publication.

4. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity, fairness, and quality of the editorial process.

Editors should:

  • evaluate submissions objectively and without discrimination;

  • consider manuscripts based on scholarly quality, relevance, originality, and contribution;

  • maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts;

  • select appropriate and independent reviewers where peer review is conducted;

  • manage conflicts of interest appropriately;

  • ensure that editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial, personal, political, or institutional interests;

  • investigate credible allegations of publication misconduct; and

  • take appropriate corrective action when serious errors or ethical concerns are identified.

Editors should not use unpublished information obtained through the editorial process for personal advantage.

5. Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers

Where external peer review is used, reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations.

Reviewers should:

  • assess manuscripts fairly and objectively;

  • provide clear and constructive comments;

  • identify relevant published work that has not been appropriately acknowledged, where applicable;

  • maintain confidentiality;

  • disclose potential conflicts of interest;

  • decline assignments when they cannot provide an impartial assessment; and

  • avoid using unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.

Reviewers should not contact authors directly about a manuscript unless authorized by the editorial team.

6. Peer Review Integrity

InspireTech Global Insight seeks to ensure that peer review is conducted in an appropriate, independent, and transparent manner.

The type of peer review used for each publication may vary according to the nature of the work and the publisher's editorial policy. The applicable review process should be communicated appropriately to authors.

Reviewers are selected based on relevant academic expertise and should be independent of the authors whenever reasonably possible.

Editorial decisions remain the responsibility of the publisher and/or designated editors and should not be determined solely by a single reviewer's recommendation.

7. Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

InspireTech Global Insight does not tolerate plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct.

Potential misconduct may include, but is not limited to:

  • plagiarism;

  • fabrication of data or results;

  • falsification or manipulation of data;

  • unauthorized use of another person's work;

  • duplicate or redundant publication;

  • inappropriate text recycling;

  • citation manipulation;

  • fraudulent authorship;

  • undisclosed conflicts of interest;

  • manipulation of the peer-review process; and

  • infringement of intellectual property rights.

Submitted manuscripts may be subject to plagiarism or similarity screening and editorial assessment.

A similarity score alone does not automatically establish plagiarism. Editors will consider the nature, extent, context, and source of the overlap when evaluating potential misconduct.

8. Research Ethics

Authors are responsible for ensuring that research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or other regulated subjects complies with applicable ethical standards and institutional or legal requirements.

Where applicable, authors should provide information concerning:

  • ethical approval;

  • informed consent;

  • participant confidentiality;

  • data protection;

  • research registration; and

  • other relevant ethical requirements.

The publisher may request supporting documentation when ethical concerns arise.

9. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest that could influence the publication or review process.

Conflicts may arise from:

  • financial relationships;

  • employment or institutional relationships;

  • personal relationships;

  • academic collaborations;

  • professional competition;

  • funding arrangements; or

  • other interests that may affect impartial judgment.

The existence of a conflict does not necessarily prevent publication or peer review. Appropriate measures will be taken to manage conflicts and protect the integrity of the editorial process.

10. Funding and Financial Transparency

Authors should disclose financial support or other forms of funding that contributed to the research or preparation of the manuscript.

Any publication-related fees charged by the publisher should be communicated transparently to authors before publication.

Editorial decisions should not be based on an author's ability or inability to pay publication-related fees.

11. Intellectual Property and Copyright

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts do not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.

Third-party material—including text, figures, photographs, tables, datasets, or other copyrighted content—must be appropriately cited and, where necessary, used with permission.

Copyright and licensing arrangements for each publication should be clearly identified in the relevant publishing agreement and/or publication record.

12. Complaints and Appeals

Authors and other stakeholders may raise concerns regarding editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, authorship, copyright, or other aspects of the publishing process.

Complaints should be submitted to the publisher's editorial office with sufficient information to allow the matter to be evaluated.

Appeals should provide clear reasons and supporting information. Appeals will be considered fairly and independently, subject to the publisher's applicable procedures.

13. Allegations of Misconduct

When credible allegations of publication or research misconduct are received, InspireTech Global Insight will assess the matter and, where appropriate, conduct an investigation.

Depending on the circumstances, the publisher may:

  • request an explanation or supporting documentation from the authors;

  • consult editors, reviewers, institutions, or other relevant parties;

  • request clarification or correction;

  • reject a manuscript;

  • withdraw a publication;

  • issue a correction or editorial notice;

  • retract a publication; or

  • take other appropriate action.

Investigations will be handled as confidentially as reasonably possible.

14. Corrections and Retractions

The publisher is committed to maintaining an accurate scholarly record.

If a significant error is identified after publication, an appropriate correction may be issued.

A publication may be considered for retraction when there is reliable evidence that the work contains substantial errors, research misconduct, serious ethical violations, or other circumstances that materially affect the reliability or integrity of the publication.

Corrections and retractions should be clearly identified and linked to the original publication record whenever technically possible.

15. Confidentiality

Information relating to unpublished manuscripts, peer-review reports, editorial discussions, and investigations will be treated confidentially.

Personal information obtained during the publishing process will be handled responsibly and in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

16. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions should be based on academic and scholarly considerations rather than commercial, political, personal, or institutional interests.

The publisher supports the independence of editors and reviewers in evaluating scholarly content.

Commercial considerations must not override legitimate academic and ethical requirements.

17. Post-Publication Responsibilities

The publisher recognizes that publication does not end its responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.

Post-publication concerns may be investigated when credible evidence is presented.

Where necessary, the publisher may publish corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, withdrawals, or retractions.

18. Policy Review

This Publication Ethics and Research Integrity Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing, research ethics, information technology, and international publishing standards.

InspireTech Global Insight is committed to continuously improving its publishing practices and maintaining a trustworthy scholarly communication environment.
